Blurb:
Chase Payne is a walking contradiction. He’s the most powerful psychic in the Community, but the least respected. He’s the son of the Community’s founder, but with his tattoo sleeves and abrasive attitude, he’s nothing like his charismatic family. No one knows what to make of him, which is how he wound up locked in a cell on the Farm yet again. But this time, the only man he’s ever loved is there too.

Elijah Estrella was used to being the sassy sidekick who fooled around with Chase for fun. But that was before he realized the Community wasn’t the haven he’d believed in and Chase was the only person who’d ever truly tried to protect him. Now they’re surrounded by people who want to turn them against their friends, and the only way out is to pretend the brainwashing works.

With Chase playing the role of a tyrant’s second-in-command, and Elijah acting like Chase’s mindless sex toy, they risk everything by plotting a daring escape. In the end, it’s only their psychic abilities, fueled by their growing love for each other, that will allow them to take the Community down once and for all.

4✨s – Chase! Elijah! There really isn’t much more to say. But that would be a very short and boring review.

The crescendo of the Community storyline is fast and fierce. Being in Chase’s mind-wowza! I spent as much time yelling at him for his behavior as I did rooting for his bravery in all things.
Again I wanted more, the Black/Payne brothers come across as three dimensional, strong, sensitive men. Their partners not so much.

Even with the revelations about Six and Elijah’s history there was little depth. Not going to lie, Elijah really does make Chase shine. And Chase makes the story.

The end felt like more of a stopping point. A happily ever after that promises to be mostly happy, always crazy and most of predictable.

4.5✨s – I hate to say that we might agree more than not here. As the epic finale in this trilogy, Sightlines was just about everything I wanted. Action packed, Chase and Elijah, the culmination of the Black/Payne family connection bringing down the Community – even the realistic logic that nothing can be all good or all evil. For as much horror as the Community perpetrated, there are those people they helped (e.g. Elijah) and the good they could be under the right leadership.

Honestly, I feel like anything else I say would ruin the whole trilogy for anyone who isn’t already through the first two books, so I’ll just say that I loved everything about this series and like Evette I just needed more about Trent, Sixtus, and Elijah. They were more than just foils, more than just love interests, they were integral and at times the catalyst for their partners needed.

One of the best trilogies I’ve read in awhile and I enjoyed every installment.

About Santino Hassell:
Santino Hassell - authorSantino Hassell was raised by a conservative family, but he was anything but traditional. He grew up to be a smart-mouthed, school cutting grunge kid, then a transient twenty-something, and eventually transformed into an unlikely romance author.

Santino writes queer romance that is heavily influenced by the gritty, urban landscape of New York City, his belief that human relationships are complex and flawed, and his own life experiences.

Congrats, Santino, and thanks for the dual reviews, Evette and Jesse. Sounds like a great finale. I’m on a Hassell roll, this series included. I love placing the psychic heroes into the the urban realism. – Purple Reader,
