Two clashing colleagues stuck together for Christmas–will opposites eventually attract?
Patrick has been single since he broke up with his cheating ex almost a year ago. With Christmas looming, he’s resigned to spending it alone with only memories of happier times for company. When a business trip with a co-worker leaves them stranded in the Lake District due to heavy snow, it seems Patrick will have company for Christmas after all. It’s a shame his companion is Kyle, who’s undeniably attractive, but annoying as hell.
Aware of Patrick’s reluctant admiration, Kyle basks in the attention even though Patrick isn’t the type of man he normally goes for. Averse to relationships after being hurt in the past, Kyle enjoys the occasional hook up, but has given up on seeking anything more meaningful.
Stuck together, their antagonism escalates along with a heavy dose of sexual tension until it finally ignites. What starts as a Christmas fling soon feels like something special; but will their tentative connection melt away as the snow thaws? If they’re going to take a chance on finding happiness together, they’ll have to put their differences aside and learn to trust one another.
Contains: enemies-to-lovers, snowball fights, bickering, spanking, a cute dog, a wise old lady, mistletoe, and a happy ending (of course).
4✨s – Another wonderful Christmas story from Jay, something that I look forward to every year! This year gives us two work colleagues who have not been getting on and end up snowed in together on their way home from a work event. Stranded together for Christmas they have to make the most of what they have with a small living space, one local shop, a pub, an old lady and her dog. Well, this will be interesting for them both! Such a beautiful sounding setting for this story, the Lake District covered in snow is a truly stunning sight. Both men spend time walking so we get to experience a small village set among the hills under a mound of snow. Kyle is the young, hip and proudly out man regularly using Grindr for some fun an doesn’t see why everyone wouldn’t want to go about things that way. Patrick is older, jaded by a past relationship and the betrayal from that and wants a connection before he gets physical with anyone. It’s fun reading the two snipe at each other until comments cut a little close to home. I enjoyed the time that it takes for them to take any steps towards getting closer and the people that they meet around the village definitely help in bringing out the softer side of Kyle. Jay is great at bringing the characters to life but also making them feel very real and easy to connect with. Whilst this isn’t a story full of angst and drama, it definitely has enough packed in to keep you interested in the outcome of the couple and how things will unfold. This is a heart warming story of two very different people coming together, making the most of what they have and enjoying Christmas together. Yet another Christmas hit from Jay!
