4✨s – When Eric’s daughter, Josie, is kidnapped, he calls the one man he knows will always be there to help him, his ex-boyfriend Brock. Brock doesn’t hesitate when he receives the call from Eric, he grabs the money, calls his best security man and goes to Eric’s rescue.
Eric and Brock have been apart for about nine years, but the time apart doesn’t seem to have diminished their love for each other. Eric broke up with Brock because he felt he didn’t fit in Brock’s world which is rich, upper class and definitely childless. Eric wanted to have kids so he adopted Josie. Josie is three and has been told all about Daddy Bee so when she’s left with Brock after Eric is injured, she’s completely comfortable with him.
It’s clear throughout the book that both men still love each other. It’s also clear that no one could take the place of the other man. It’s like they were both biding their time until the time was right for them to be together again.
I thought the plot was interesting, but the bad guys needed more depth to be believable. As it was written, it was a little too far reaching for me. I liked how easily Eric, Brock and Josie came together as a family, but I would have liked a little more backstory about the relationship Eric and Brock had before.
This was a good story with a sweet HEA, it just needed more details for me.
