They were no longer total strangers just doing their jobs, there wasn’t hundreds of miles of detachment between them, and they weren’t living under constant threat anymore. Things were different and they were better for it. Better than better, but those changes also meant the old rules no longer applied. To be a partner and husband, he had to take Greg’s concerns seriously, not override them because his pride was hurt.
