Get The Enchanter’s Flame by Michele Notaro on Amazon & Kindle UnlimitedStrange things are happening all around Brinnswick. Things that remind me of a piece of my past I’d rather forget. Girls are being killed, drained of blood, and left with strange markings on their bodies. When I finally connect the cases together, a specialist is called in—though, what he’s a specialist of is beyond me.

When the chief assigns him as my new partner for the case, I can’t help but groan on the inside. Why of all people would I be assigned to Ailin Ellwood? The man is a disaster waiting to happen and a jerk to boot. A sexy jerk, but a jerk nonetheless.

What will Sebastian think when he discovers Ailin’s specialty? Will he make a run for it or will he stick around and discover a world of magic hidden beneath the city’s surface?

***The Enchanter’s Flame is the first book in the Ellwood Chronicles. It’s a paranormal romance that contains explicit material and is intended for mature adults 18 and over.***

5✨s – OMG I am in love with this book! It is so freaking good. I’ll be honest, I kind of forgot what it was about when I started reading. I chose not to look up the blurb again, which is unusual for me because I love reading blurbs. Anyway, I went in this book blind and I was brilliantly surprised.

Sebastian is a detective in Brinnswick, when he is handed a case things take an interesting turn. Bodies with strange symbols, violent deaths, things just don’t add up for this human detective. Enter Ailin Ellwood. Ailin is brash, a jerk who seems to not care about anything or anyone, forced to work together the two struggle to get along. But the more time they spend together the faster their feelings change.

I had a feeling where one of the major plot points was going from the beginning. It was too obvious to me, but the rest? The rest was a complete surprise. Ailin and Sebastian don’t know if they lie each other but they can’t deny the draw they have. But in the middle of a dangerous investigation exploring it isn’t the time.

Michele Notaro wrote the book from Sebastian’s POV, which I usually have issue with. I like hearing what both main characters are thinking, but it I understood why. Ailin was as much of a mystery to us as he was to Sebastian.

I loved how this was a slow burn as they tried to figure out how to stop the murders, how they feel for each other.

I love the transition between Sebastian going from being wary of Ailin to becoming apart of his family. Even though Sebastian may not understand everything in Ailin’s world or his feelings towards, Ailin, he trusts in what they’re building.

I need book two, now please. I knew I was going to like this book after the first few chapters but I didn’t know just how much I would love the characters and their stories. As I kept reading I hated that it had to end.

5✨s – The blurb for this book doesn’t do it justice!!!!! This book packs so much punch I couldn’t put it down!! I was so amazed, I don’t even know where to begin with this review!! In the interest of not giving away any spoilers and frankly the best part of this book is READING IT, I’ll tell you a little about what to expect. This is the story of strange murders, haunting pasts, and discovering the existence of an entirely new world. It is topped off with two main characters developing a smoking hot, emotionally charged relationship that speaks to my soul (ALL THE FEELINGS!!!!!!!). This is by far one of the best books I’ve read in a long time!! And this is the first book in a new series that I absolutely cannot wait for!!!

5✨s – What a fantastic new series from Michelle Notaro! We’re treated to a brilliant story line, which sets us up for a roller-coaster ride of a series, as well as strong characters some to love and some to hate. Sebastian is a cop looking into a series of grisly, weird murders and gets partnered with Ailin, a secretive yet cocky man that Sebastian can’t help but be attracted to. The case takes a few turns, including a run in with the murderer for Sebastian but this is where Ailin shines through and shows his true colours…… This story is firstly, so interesting and different to anything I’ve read before! I was drawn in from the moment we were introduced to Sebastian and his determination to solve the murder cases that he came across and linked together. Then we meet Ailin and he’s so….different to others. An enigma in who he is, what he knows and what he can do but straight away is someone to trust. The banter between the two men starts straight away and it’s easy to read a bond forming between them as they look into the cases. Once things take a turn and get slightly more complicated, I was so immersed in the story! I needed to know what was coming next throughout the whole book. It’s definitely one that’s hard to put down and I’m so excited to read the next one! With how it ends you know that it’s gonna be quite the ride. Our MC’s are intense, comedic and adorable together and we also get treated to some wonderful secondary characters with Ailin’s family. Very supportive and step up whenever needed. The setting and places that are written and action sequences are all so engaging. It’s so easy to imagine where you are throughput and watch a play by play through your head as you read through the book. Michelle’s writing is beautiful, captivating and bewitching. This is a fabulous supernatural mystery that’s different to any I’ve read before and I cannot recommend it enough! I received an ARC from the publisher and am happily giving a review.
