When Nate Hawthorne meets Asher Dane, the huge, tattooed hunk is the personification of Nate’s dreams. But Nate knows there’s no future because Asher is also the personification of his beloved five-year-old daughter Delly’s nightmares. She’s frightened of big men. Things turn around for both of them, however, when Delly goes Christmas shopping at the Fairy Shop and begins her quest for a wand that will make her brave. Neither of them guesses that the Fairy Shop will be the source of far more than Delly’s courage. On Christmas Eve, under the influence of a very unusual fairy, Nate’s life will change forever.

This is a wonderful story filled with the magic of Christmas and fairies.
Looks can be deceiving as Asher is tall, muscular and tattooed, the type that Nate’s daughter is currently terrified of, but he is the epitome of a gentle giant, loving and kind. There is a dose of drama as Nate tries to help Delphine work through her fears and her mom also makes an appearance, not in a good way. The heat level between Nate and Asher is off the charts when they get the chance to be together but there is also a lot of cuteness as Asher shows himself as a gentleman. A big reveal shows off all of his best aspects and brings him closer to Delphine as they share their struggles.
Delphine is totally adorable and not afraid to speak her mind though it does seem as though she talks a little bit older than her age.
This is a short story full of highs and lows, so well written as always by Tara Lain. There is also a good message about finding your inner strength and the wonder of Christmas.
